Postdoctoral Researcher (m/f/d)
for Battery Development

Become a member of the DECHEMA research institute, a non-profit foundation based in Frankfurt am Main in Germany.
We carry out fundamental and applied research in the field of Materials, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology. Main activities of “Energy Storage & Conversion team” focus on material development for fuel cells, electrolyzers and emerging battery systems.

This position is first limited to a duration of 2 years

Your tasks:

  • Development and optimization of electrode, separator, electrolyte and casing compounds for an emerging battery system within a German project
  • Fabrication of metallic, cylindrical cell
  • Evaluation of performance under half-cell and full-cell configuration
  • post-test characterization of cell compounds

We expect:

  • Founded background in chemical engineering, chemistry and materials science
  • Proper handling with highly corrosive electrolyte in a glovebox
  • Knowledge and experience regarding cylindrical cell fabrication
  • Skills in electrochemistry and corrosion processes
  • Experience in supporting of student thesis
  • Expertise regarding redaction of scientific reports, publications, and patents
  • Leadership competencies
